We are always looking for former or potential Sherlockians for membership in the Nashville Scholars. We're not all scholars; we're not all Nashville natives. But no Sherlockian wants to live alone.

Who Can Join?

We invite anybody with an interest in and passion for Victorian crime fiction with a particular love for the Sherlock Holmes stories. Your addiction can be books or movies, but we focus on the stories. If you like to write and could participate in our pastiche writing, that would be a bonus.

Why become a Nashville Scholar? Why me? Why now?

Being a Nashville Scholar is fun: we like to read, to eat, to drink, and to think clearly about how Sherlock Holmes came to certain conclusions about his cases. Our members are close friends and we have a great time when we get together. True Sherlockians like to think of Holmes as a real person; Dr. Watson as his biographer, and Arthur Conan Doyle as "the literary agent."

How Can You Join?

Come to a meeting. See the list on our events page. Dues are $10 annually. You'll want to choose a "nom", a name of any character in the canon (the 60 Sherlock Holmes stories) that you can identify with. If that nom is not taken, it's yours.
